Charleston Weekend

 Guess who was excited?
This girl. That is the face of someone who is about to pound a coffee after 24 days of a coffee-less existence. The Starbucks near my apt was closed at 5:45 AM (really?), so my husband picked me up a Dunkin.
We took the Orange Line to Midway, breezed through security and looked for breakfast. I ended up getting up oatmeal with dried fruit, nuts, and Nunatural stevia from my bag (BYOS…bring your own stevia).

We had a non-stop from Midway to Charleston on Southwest and in two hours flat we were in the great state of South Carolina. The Charleston airport is straight up out of the 80s- and I love it. We picked up our rental car and headed to Charleston Place

I actually spotted Charleston Place on sale on Jetsetter about a month ago and ended up getting a pretty good rate. (I highly recommend browsing Jetsetter once a week and looking at the discounts on phenomenal hotels and resorts around the globe. HERE is an invitation to join) Typically, I wouldn’t pay full price for this hotel. I have stayed there a couple time before and had mixed experiences. This weekend, we got a beautiful, renovated room, but they didn’t have any rooms with King Beds. That means I spent a beautiful weekend away with my husband smashed in a double bed and another bed sitting empty. We also were in desperate need of late night room service and it took so long that we fell asleep. Anyways, the location is awesome and I loved the new renovations they did in the bathrooms.
Friday we had a phenomenal lunch on the patio at Husk (the deserves its own post) and then did some shopping on King St. I got a spray tan at Willow before heading back to the room to get changed and ready for the rehearsal dinner.
I ended up doing Rent the Runway for the weekend….

The dresses arrived on Thursday night and I spent 30 minutes trying them on and finding shoes and accessories from my closet.

Friday night, I wore this black fit and flare style to the rehearsal dinner.

The following morning we had a nostalgic craving for Cracker Barrel and drove 20 minutes. After that delicious breakfast,  I went to Tease for a blow out, browsed King St, and went back to the hotel to get ready for the main event.
I wore this purple Herve Leger to the wedding. It wasn’t my favorite, and I think the top was a little big on be (straps were loose), but it got the job done.
The wedding was nothing short of spectacular…

& I got one fuzzy picture of us….

Charleston is just the best.
